Bear is a senior love bug who came into rescue when his owners were no longer able to care for him. He was living outside most of the time, received no vet care and was in pretty bad condition. He is estimated to be between 10-12 years old and is ready to live out the rest of his years in a loving, quiet home! Bear spends most of his day napping, eating and going on walks. His foster mom has said he is a pleasure to host! Bear is currently being fostered in a home with another dog and gets along well just fine with his foster brother. Previously, he was in a home with cats so it is known that Bear would do just fine in a home with cats.
Being a senior Bear comes with arthritis of his back legs and occasionally will need help getting up if he is laying or sitting for to long. His foster mom has been using a sling and it has been working great. After doing bloodwork on Bear it has been known that he has some elevated liver enzymes and is currently on a liver supplement. He is also on joint supplements and anti-imflammatory medication to help with his arthritis. Other than that, Bear is a healthy senior who is eager to find his forever home! The ideal home for Bear would be with someone who is home most of the time and can provide Bear with company throughout the day. He is a gentle boy who loves to have his people around but will do well with being alone for shorter periods of time.
Bear's forever family should be willing to walk Bear short lengths throughout the day to help with his joints/arthritis. They should also be willing to keep Bear on a regular schedule with his food, medications, and supplements! Bear is pretty much potty trained but will have occasional accidents if not let out often. Overall, Bear is a sweet senior boy who deserves a loving home to call his own.
