1 year old
Meet Bengi, an amazingly sweet 1 year old boy who recently came to us from Turkey where he was found as a stray. He’s a big guy, weighing in at 78 lbs. You would never know Bengi ever had a bad day as he is a very happy boy. He loves to play and snuggle in equal amounts and has never met a toy or belly rub he didn’t like! He’s already started learning his basic commands, and is getting really good on-leash...he’ll be a perfect companion for both outside adventures and Netflix time. He gets so excited when his human comes home that he does jumps up, and his foster family working on proper greeting behaviors. He’s good with humans of all sizes and ages, as long as they’re open to giving him back scratches. Bengi is a discerning gentleman--he loves a good snack, and is gentle taking them. He will entertain himself as long as there are appropriate toys and stimuli around. He has picked up some books and shoes, but only because he wants attention, and no damage was done to those items. Bengi loves his doggie foster brother, and if he could, he’d play all day. He plays very gently and appropriately, and doesn’t have any guarding or rude behaviors. He’s still very much a puppy, so he’s got good energy, good lovins, and still has his puppy clumsies. He sleeps through the night without any problems on a dog bed next to his human’s bed.
Bengi’s ideal family would be one full of love to share with him, ‘cause they’re going to get it back ten fold. He would do ok as an only dog, but would definitely need mental stimulation, daily exercise, and lots of opportunities for doggie socialization. Bengi would also be the perfect addition to a home that already has a fur-sibling. He needs a family willing to give him the time and energy to learn and grow. He’s smart and eager to learn, and his forever family should plan to take him to a training class. He hasn’t had any potty accidents at his foster home, and does his business in appropriate places.
If you feel Bengi might be THE one for you, please complete our adoption application which can be found on our website: www.roversretreat.org
NOTE: due to the high cost of medical care and transportation overseas, Bengi’s adoption donation is $1,000
