This handsome boy is Blue, a 4 ½ year old cocker spaniel.  He came into rescue when his family realized they didn’t have the time to give him the attention and exercise he needed.  He has been settling in at a foster home for a couple of weeks and is ready to find his forever family.

Blue is a sweet, happy, and playful boy.  He is a bit chubby at 37 lbs, but does enjoy his walks and running around the yard so with regular exercise and a healthy diet, it won’t be tough for him to shed a couple of pounds.

Blue enjoys spending time on the couch with his people, going on walks, and playing with toys.  He prefers to sleep in his comfy crate, and will happily go in there to rest.  On his walks he may bark at some other dogs, so his adopter should be prepared to work through that with him.  Blue is really an awesome houseguest.  He is not destructive, hasn’t had any potty accidents, and is pretty mellow in the house.

Blue lived with an infant and a toddler in his former home, and pretty much ignored them.  He was a Covid doggie, and that means he didn’t get a lot of outside socialization in his life.  Because of this, he is a bit wary of new people he meets on leash…especially men.  The best approach is to allow him to approach a new person.  Once he does, all is good and he warms up very quickly.

Blue is living with another dog at his foster home, and doing well, but having another dog in the home is not a requirement.  As long as he has a family committed to giving him the love, exercise, and continued socialization he needs to thrive he will be a happy boy.

If Blue sounds like he could be a fit for you, please fill out an adoption application here: Adoption Application
