Meet Calista, aka Cali!  This adorable little girl is a rescue from China.  Cali was saved from the slaughterhouse in China and made her way to the United States a couple weeks ago. She has spent some time settling in with her foster family and is now ready to find her forever people!

Cali is about 9 months old and a typical puppy once she’s comfortable with you.  She adores the other dogs in her foster home, so having a playmate and companion in her forever home will be important. She loves to play, wrestle, and just be near the other dogs as much as possible.  Cali is learning how much fun toys are, but is still working on chewing on appropriate things (ex. Her toys vs the foster's belongings).  She still has a lot of puppies in her, so her forever family will need to be prepared to be puppy proof and supervise her to make sure she doesn’t get into things she shouldn’t!

As much as Cali loves the other dogs, and is also a people dog.  She will follow her foster mom around and sleep in bed with her to soak up all the cuddles.  Because she has never lived in a home or had people to take care of her she is working on some separation anxiety when her foster mom leaves, but she is getting better everyday.  This is something her forever family will just need to be patient and continue to work with her on.  She is very smart and food motivated!

Cali definitely needs to gain confidence and having the other dogs around helps with that.  She is now really enjoying her daily walks and would love an active family to take her on adventures when she’s settled and ready!

Calista is an incredible little golden girl who is going to be a fantastic addition to the right family.  If you’re interested in adopting this precious girl, please fill out an adoption application here: Adoption Application
