Meet Charles, aka Charlie!  This handsome fella is a 3-4 year old Cocker Spaniel who’s as sweet as can be.  Charlie came from an environment where he spent most of his life in a crate, or the backyard.  He did not get much attention at all and came into rescue severely matted and emaciated.  He has put on some weight and has been doing very well in his foster home the last couple of weeks.  Charlie is now ready to find his forever family, and he is going to be an amazing addition to the right family!

Charlie is such a fun pup who loves being outdoors.  He enjoys a couple long walks a day, lots of ball play in the yard, and car rides with his foster family.  Charlie bonds closely with his people and loves to cuddle and be near you all the time.  He follows his foster family around the house and gets sad when they leave the room.  He was working on some separation anxiety initially with so many new changes, but he has gotten a lot better and just hangs out in his crate or in the living room on the couch with his toys!  Charlie will do best in a home with someone who wants a velcro dog to take places, cuddle, and be with them all the time.

Charlie is being fostered with two other dogs and has done well, although he definitely prefers people.  Charlie will explore the yard and run around at times with the other dog in his foster home, but he prefers to play fetch with his people and be the center of attention.  He would do very well as an only dog, or with an easy going passive dog who he can just hang out with.

Charlie loves everyone he meets, but sometimes it can take him a minute to warm up.  He will bark at new people initially at times but warms up quickly with treats.  He is a very social doggie so a patient person who will work with him and take him lots of places would be the best match.  He is a very active boy so long walks, hikes, and outdoor activities are a must!

Charlie is smart, friendly, and beyond adorable… Truly a great boy!  He is going to make a fantastic addition to the right family.
