Meet Cher! Cher is an approximately 1 year old Corgi mix who made the journey all the way from Turkey to find her furever family. We are not certain what she is mixed with… maybe Corgi/Golden Retriever? But whatever it is, we can be certain that she is as cute as can be! Cher has been settling in at her foster home over the past few weeks and is now ready to find her forever home.
Cher is a love bug who craves attention from her people. She will follow you from room to room, wants to sleep in bed with you, and always wants to know where you are. She is very much a velcro pup! In her foster home she is living with 2 other dogs: a Golden Retriever and a small senior mix breed. She loves them and follows them all around the house. She enjoys running around the yard, but hasn’t quite shown an interest in playing with the other dogs. She would really enjoy another dog in her furever home. A calmer dog, or dog that’s looking for a cuddle companion rather than a playmate would be a great fit!
Cher does well on walks, but does get excited and can pull on leash at times. She is currently walking about 2 miles a day, but could easily do more and enjoy hikes with her furever family! She is mellow in the house, but always up for an adventure. Cher is perfect in the car and often accompanies her foster siblings to sports practices and games to soak up all the love from the people there. She’s quite the social butterfly! Cher would love a social, active family who will take her out to do fun activities, and just make her part of their family activities and life.
Cher has been doing well with potty training and will go out in the yard when she needs potty, and/or is let out frequently. With a new change she will need some additional reinforcement and patience until she knows where she is supposed to go potty, and gets on a schedule. She is a young girl and gets very excited meeting new people, so she often will have little pee accidents when meeting new people. She might grow out of this, or continuing outside greetings might be the best way to continue! Cher has been left alone occasionally for short periods of time. She gets very upset in the crate, but does well outside of the crate in the house when her other doggie foster siblings are home and she has gotten some good exercise. If the other dogs are gone, or she hasn’t had a walk yet she will get into stuff around the house. This is just something her furever family will need to work on, and determine what set up works best for Cher when she has to stay home alone. A doggie sibling in her furever home to keep her company will definitely help.
Cher is an incredible little girl who can’t wait to find her perfect furever people. She will be a great addition to any family looking for a loving companion, cuddle buddy, and adventurous outdoors pup.
