Hi American Friends! My name is Dodo, but all my friends call me Bear. Get it, because of my big fluffy appearance? Well, let me tell you a little bit about myself… I am a gorgeous, approximately 4-year-old golden retriever, and I traveled all the way from Turkey to be your new best friend! I was found by a wonderful rescuer in Turkey after being left on the streets to fend for myself. Clearly, she knew I was WAY too handsome to be on the streets. So, here I am! I have been settling in with my foster family over these last couple of weeks, and am loving life as a US citizen. Long walks, sunbathing in the backyard, and cuddles on the couch...this place is pretty great!
I have adapted well to home life and only had a couple of accidents in my foster home in the beginning. My forever family should be willing to help get me on a schedule and show me where I am supposed to potty in the beginning, but I do pick things up very quickly. My foster mom says I am a very smart boy, and super food motivated, which I am told can be a good and bad thing. I have learned “sit” and “down” in no time at all, but apparently, my knack for taking human food is not as impressive as my trick learning abilities. My new family will need to be vigilant when leaving food out as if it seems like it’s up for grabs, I will try to grab it! Other than my love of human food, all food really, I have left my foster's belongings all intact. I do love to play with toys from time to time, and am learning what great fun fetch it! So, having a toy basket with squeaky toys and tennis balls in my forever home would make me oh so happy!
I currently have the companionship of one large and one small doggie foster sister! I get along great with other dogs of all sizes/temperaments and love to play with my bigger foster sister throughout the day. While I enjoy being active and outdoors, after a nice long walk I am equally content to lay by your feet while you work. I get along great with all people, but because of my large size and excited jumping habits, I will not be placed in a home with children under the age of 7 years old. I am an all-around happy, go-lucky guy, who loves the car and am up for pretty much any adventure! I would make a great addition to an active family who’s looking for a goofy, energetic “Bear” who loves a good time during the day, and cuddles at night.
If you think you’re the BFF(s) I’ve been looking for, and I sound like a good fit for you, please fill out an adoption application here::: Adoption Application
