This beautiful girl is Margo, a 4ish year old golden who came to us from Turkey. Her former life was not glamorous at all…she was owned by a man who wanted her to guard his chickens. Margo was chained all day and all night in the yard. Our rescuer saw her chained and asked the owner about her. The owner told our rescuer to take Margo because she wasn’t a good guardian as she never barked at intruders. When she came into rescue her coat needed to be completely shaved as she was badly matted. It has since grown back beautifully and our sweet girl hasn’t looked back on her former life once!

At 70lbs, Margo is a bit on the chunky side and needs to lose about 10 lbs to be at a healthy weight. With daily walks and play, along with a healthy diet she will lose the weight in no time. Margo really enjoys playing/hanging out with her foster doggie sibling and her people. She is learning the joy of toys, and is particularly fond of antlers and stuffed bones.

Margo is a happy, balanced, low to moderate energy girl. She is happy greeting new people and dogs, is good with cats. She loves attention and cuddles from her people. She enjoys car rides, too. Margo is good on leash and while she is currently getting 2 short walks of 1/2 mile each per day, as she loses weight her stamina and energy should increase. The more walks the better with this pretty girl as that will help her shed a few of those pounds.

Margo has been an easy houseguest at her foster home. She enjoys hanging out and laying on the shaded patio with her bone to chew on. She enjoys laying on the couch with her people, but prefers to sleep on a dog bed. While she was potty trained with our rescuer in Turkey, she has had some accidents at her foster home since she arrived. So her forever family will need to continue to work with her on that.

Margo is looking for a family who will help her enjoy the finer things in life…lots of attention and love, enriching walks, and companionship. In turn she will be your new BFF.
