This little cutie is Peaches, a 2-ish year old tri-pod who originally came from China. She was saved from the horrific meat trade by a wonderful rescuer, and made her way to us to find her forever home. Peaches is sweet and playful, and incredibly affectionate once she settles in but is timid initially with new people.

Peaches is about 21 lbs and was born with a partial left front paw. She gets around beautifully…runs and jumps with no hesitation. She loves going on walks and gets very animated when you pick up her leash to get ready to go. 

Peaches bonds quickly with her person…and is definitely more comfortable with women. We don’t know how she was treated in her former life, but we’re guessing men weren’t very nice or gentle with her so she is quite timid around them. Introducing her to men needs to be done slow and patiently at her pace. Once she is comfortable with her people she is very loyal and wants to stay close. She adores belly rubs and ear scratches. 

Peaches gains confidence from being around other dogs, so she needs an easy going dog in her forever home. She learns fast, and will follow the other dogs. At her foster home she learned to use the dog door within the first couple hours she was there. She takes treats gently, and is starting to discover the joy of chewing on antlers, nylabones, and filled bones. 

Peaches has very good house manners and has left her foster’s belongings intact. She hasn’t had any potty accidents while in foster care. Peaches loves laying on the couch while her humans are watching TV, and happily sleeps quietly on the bed with her humans all night. 

This sweet little girl needs a special adopter who will be patient with her, and help her learn that men can be gentle and she has nothing to fear.
