Adopt Ela

Hi friends, my name is Ela. I am a one-year-old female golden retriever and I traveled all the way from the streets of Turkey to meet you! I am a typical puppy who loves to play and rough house. I love to play with toys, and anything with a squeaker is my automatic best friend! I adore other dogs and would benefit from having a doggy playmate in my forever home with a backyard to play in.

Given that I am a puppy, I am still learning what is expected of me. I like to pick up and chew things like shoes, but I can be easily redirected to chewing on my toys instead. I also get a little mouthy when playing, and am still learning what is appropriate (ex. My toys) vs inappropriate (ex. My foster mom’s arm) to put my mouth on.  So, I will need gentle guidance and consistency.  Because of this I would do best with older kids. I love kids, and my foster family would love to see me in a home with kids old enough to play with me and tire me out. Even though I have puppy energy, I love to relax and cuddle on the bed with my people.

I am a smart puppy who is eager to learn. My potty training is going great in my foster home, too. Though, this is something that my forever family will need to be consistent with after I get adopted. I enjoy walks and am currently walking approximately 4 miles a day with my foster mom. I do pull a little on the leash, as I am so excited to see the world. My foster mom is working with me on this and has been using a gentle leader head collar on our walks, and she says I have been responding great to it! My forever family will need to continue working with me on this. Since I am a puppy and eager to learn, I would benefit from obedience training in my forever home.

Note:  Due to the high cost of medical care and overseas transportation, Ela’s adoption donation is $1,000
