I’m Joey, one of six littermates rescued here in San Diego. Like most small dogs, I’m initially timid with strangers (human and dogs) but I warm up after I’ve had some time to get to know them. I tend to whine when I’m uncomfortable in a new situation , so I hope you’re looking for a talker, but I don’t bark much.
I am mellow around the house, but always up for an adventure. I am being fostered with a furry sibling, and we get along well. I don’t know how I feel about cats or kids since I’ve never met either one. I go on a short walk each day with my foster mom and foster sister. I enjoy playing with other dogs and fetch. I would love a nice yard in my furever home. I love being outside running around, fetching, hopping around, chewing on plants and grass, or just lying in the sun. Like most puppies, I like to chew on things I shouldn’t so I will need to be watched in the backyard until I’m a little older.
I’ve been left home alone for as long as 4 hours without issues – I’ll just sleep. At home, I’m ok sleeping alone, though I’d rather sleep with you on your bed. I love to sleep in and may whine if you try to get me moving too early. I know what the word “outside” means and will do my business outdoors in the right place. If I’m on a schedule, I rarely have an accident. I tend to whine a bit on car rides. Whining might just be my main mode of communication until I’m a little older and more experienced with the world.
I’m a chill dude who will love hanging with my family. I think I’d be ok with another dog in the home if I didn’t have to complete too much for attention. I love to follow my fur sibling around and enjoy being part of the pack.
