Please meet Maxine...a gorgeous 7 month old golden retriever mix who came to us from Mexico when her owner was no longer able to take care of her.
Maxine has had an extremely rough start to life but despite this she is the happiest, spunkiest sweetest girl you will ever meet. Maxine came into rescue with an obvious limp on her back leg. We do not know what happened to Maxine prior to coming into rescue to cause this limp. After performing x-rays and being seen by our vet in the U.S it was determined she had an infection in her bone and her leg was not able to be saved due to the severity of the infection. Maxine is now a happy tripod and you would never guess she has any limitations.
Maxine's favorite activities include chasing balls in her foster's backyard and getting out all her puppy energy. When she is not getting the zoomies in the backyard she will happily take a long afternoon nap and relax with you snuggled up on the couch!
Maxine is potty and crate trained and will happily sleep or stay in her crate if needed. Of course, she would much rather snuggle up with you in bed and will sleep in until you tell her its time to wake up!
Despite being a tripod, Maxine is rather a higher energy dog who will need daily exercise. She is a bit nippy and her foster has been working with her to redirect to proper chewy toys.
If you feel like you could provide Maxine a life full of love, structure and training, please fill out an adoption application here: Adoption Application
Please note: Maxine is being fostered in Chatsworth, CA.
Maxine’s adoption fee is $500.
