Meet Myles, a very sweet and petite 3 year old lab mix.  Myles came to us from Turkey a few months ago and needed some extra TLC and time to settle in foster care before we knew what his ideal family looked like.

Myles is a tri-pawd, as he lost his rear right leg after he was hit by a car in Turkey.  He has completely healed and gets around beautifully on 3 paws.  He can run fast and is quite agile!  He also does stairs, no problem.  He loves going on walks and hikes and is great on leash.  He is currently getting 3-5 miles of walks per day.  He is as fast as any 4 legged dogs (maybe faster) for sure!

Myles does wonderfully with other dogs and cats as well.  He is a very gentle and quiet boy.  He is curious about his surroundings and is happy to explore all the sights and smells.  Most of all, he enjoys 2 things over all else…his walks and cuddling up on the couch next to his human.

Myles is a great houseguest.  He learned to use the dog door at his foster home, and will take himself out to potty.  As with any dog in a new environment, though, he will need to be shown the appropriate place to go potty and be rewarded for it.

Myles is a mellow, moderate energy boy.  He is quite anxious, though, and it will take him time to settle in and trust he is safe.  He is sensitive and gets scared by loud noises, yelling, barking, and fast movements.  People moving toward him also frighten him.  When you’re sitting on the couch, leaning over, or kneeling down (more at his level) he will seek out attention and want to be close.  Being on a couch seems to be his ‘safe space’, so he must be allowed on the furniture in his forever home.  He has zero aggression…but will need to be in a quiet, calm home with a patient adopter who understands it will take him lots of time to really know he’s home and safe.

He will also need a balanced dog (or dogs) in his forever home.  He looks to the other dogs for cues and will follow them.  His anxiety is lessened by having another dog close.

Above all else, Myles needs a safe and secure home to call his own.  He also needs a quiet home with very patient and gentle people.  He is an incredibly sweet boy who has been through so much.  Any time and energy you invest in this amazing boy will come back to you ten fold.
