This super adorable cuddle bug is Sydney, a young girl that recently arrived from Turkey. Sydney was just a puppy when she was found near a garbage dump in Ayvalik, Turkey and she had no fur (due to mange) and was emaciated. Her rescuers didn’t hesitate to save her, and just look at her now!
We aren’t sure what breed/mix she is, but we are guessing there is terrier, golden, and possibly doodle in the mix. One thing is for sure...she is 35 lbs of adorableness. Sydney’s personality is wonderful. She is super playful with other dogs, and really needs a doggie playmate in her forever home. She loves people, loves to be petted, and is even happy being cuddled and kissed. She is very good on leash and really enjoys her walks. She loves playing with toys of all kind, but can be a bit rough on the plushy ones. At about 1 year old (if that) she is still very much a puppy, and needs some guidance distinguishing which toys are appropriate and which ones aren’t. For example, her foster parent’s flip flop and remote control are not appropriate doggie chews! She is easily re-directed to appropriate toys.
Sydney is doing great with potty training, and hasn’t had any accidents at her foster home. She is a very smart girl and treat motivated, so training will be easy. She has learned that good things happen when she sits. Her forever family should plan to attend a training class with her as she is eager to learn and to please.
Since everything is still new to her, some new/unexpected noises startle Sydney. With time and lots of positive new experiences, that reaction will dissipate.
