Hi, I'm

Finnick

,

I'd be happiest with

very patient, committed humans

Meet Finnick, aka Finn! Finn is a 3-year-old corgi pup with a big heart and an even bigger capacity to love…once he feels safe. Finn came to us when his owner faced some long term mental health issues and knew they could not provide for him anymore. He has lived a life of uncertainty for quite some time.

Before finding his way to us, Finn lived on the streets alongside an unhoused individual, and while much of his history is unknown, it’s clear he had to rely on survival instincts. When he feels cornered or overwhelmed, he may react in a defensive manner—not out of aggression, but fear. These behaviors have been his way of creating space when he didn’t feel safe.

That said, Finn is already making incredible progress. In a recent evaluation with a trainer, he responded beautifully to calm, confident guidance and quickly began to settle into a more trusting and cooperative mindset. He’s incredibly intuitive and reads human energy well, which means in the right environment, he will continue to blossom. He has been continuing to make wonderful progress with his foster since this training session, so we know he will thrive with humans committed to continuing to implement the trainers direction into day to day life.

There is much to love about this boy too!! Finn is affectionate, playful, and full of personality. He adores walks, toys, and playing fetch, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and is a total cuddle bug at heart. He’s also very food motivated, which makes training a great opportunity for bonding and growth. He’s currently working on potty training and making great strides.

Finn’s ideal home is one with patient, committed adopters who understand that trust takes time. He needs calm, confident “leaders” who can provide structure, consistency, and clear boundaries as he learns that he is safe. While he may not immediately be a couch-snuggling companion, it’s only because he needs that strong foundation first—once he has it, his loving nature will shine through even more.

Finn is truly a phenomenal dog who has been through so much, and he is absolutely worth the effort. With the right people by his side, he will not only thrive—he will transform into the loyal, loving companion he’s meant to be.
