Meet Hagrid! Back in February, we rescued this sweet boy from the Riverside shelter after he came in as a “stray”.

He is a 3-year-old cocker spaniel fella who is as sweet as can be. It became clear very quickly that he had some medical things going on. He has what look almost like “duck feet” and what was later diagnosed as congenital arthritis that causes his back legs to cave inward a bit. Hagrid also came in with a very resistant urinary tract infection and through further tests and medication trials he got better, but our vets determined that due to extreme lack of care of previous infections, he will always have a degree of mild incontinence.

He has been receiving care by our vets for the last few months and with the help of a monthly arthritis injection, medication for the incontinence, and wearing a belly band at nighttime he is doing so well!! He is enjoying long walks, playing at the park, and just enjoying life so much more.

He loves every person and dog he meets. He is just so happy to be a part of everything - he is a social butterfly to the max. Hagrid will need a very committed forever family prepared to continuously manage his medical issues and give him the best life possible. In return, he will give you endless cuddles and laughs.
