Meet Hunter!
Hunter is an 8 year old silver Lab with a heart as big as his 100-pound frame. This handsome boy came to us after his former family, who had him since he was a puppy, brought him to their vet to be euthanized because his allergy care had become too expensive. Thankfully, their compassionate veterinarian refused because Hunter’s allergies and the skin issues they caused are completely treatable.
Before joining our rescue, Hunter spent his entire life living outdoors in a backyard, simply because his family thought he was too big to be inside. Since coming to us, he’s finally discovering all the good things that come with being a loved indoor dog like soft couches, fun toys, tasty chew bones, and the joy of companionship.
Hunter is a beautiful, sweet, and incredibly smart senior who’s learning new things every day. After years of isolation, he can be a little anxious in unfamiliar situations, but he’s making steady progress with the help of his amazing foster brother, who’s showing him how to relax and just be a comfy dog. He enjoys socializing with other dogs and would do well with or without a canine companion in his forever home. He’s also learning to walk nicely on leash and loves his daily outings.
Hunter truly deserves a home where he can be part of the family at last with someone patient and loving who will continue helping him heal and enjoy the life he should’ve always had.
