This handsome golden boy is Maverick. He came into rescue after his former owner passed away and a good samaritan took him in to prevent him ending up at a shelter. She then relinquished him to us so we could find his forever home. Maverick is 2 years old and weighs 82 lbs.

Maverick is a very sweet boy who craves attention and loves being close to his people. He is also a high energy boy who needs daily exercise and play. He loves swimming and going on long walks/hikes. He also is a huge fan of playing fetch and all types of toys. He is food motivated and eager to please. After a busy day full of exercise and play, Maverick would prefer to be next to you on the couch getting some love.

It’s pretty clear Maverick didn’t get the attention or guidance he needed as a young pup. He has lived with other dogs in foster care, and generally does well with them but he can be dog selective especially with smaller dogs. Because of this we will be placing him as an only dog. He is a strong boy, and walks pretty well with the use of a gentle leader. However he is reactive to other dogs on leash and will need patience and training to help in that area. After all the changes in his life Maverick is a bit anxious and needs time to decompress and settle in at a new home. If you’re willing to put in the time for Maverick to know he’s finally home for good, your reward will be a loyal, playful and loving companion.
