Meet Jersey
Jersey is an 11 year old Golden Retriever boy who, despite everything he’s been through, is still holding onto hope for a loving forever home. Jersey’s family had him since he was just a puppy, but after experiencing hardship, they made the decision to surrender him into rescue.
Jersey is your typical golden retriever, such a good boy! He wants nothing more than to be your best friend. He greets you with a soft golden smile, gentle eyes and a tail that never stops wagging. He walks beautifully on leash and enjoys peaceful neighborhood strolls. Jersey is currently living with two foster dog sisters and gets along wonderfully with them.
He is kind, affectionate and full of quiet love. He is a truly special soul who deserves to spend the rest of his days knowing what it feels like to be loved.
Since coming into our care, we’ve focused on ensuring Jersey is happy and healthy. Overall, he is in great health for a senior pup. Jersey came into rescue with a very large cyst on his right ear flap. While it was benign (had been tested by his previous owner), it has ruptured in the past and would very likely rupture again. Following our vet’s advice, we decided to remove the cyst which involved a pinnectomy, a procedure involving partial removal of the lower portion of his ear. He had surgery on January 2nd, was neutered at the same time and is healing very well. Jersey will be ready to be adopted around January 16th.
Jersey is a loving, gentle boy with the biggest heart. He simply wants to spend the rest of his golden years surrounded by love, comfort and a family to call his own.
