Meet Zoey, an approximately 2 year old Golden Retriever with the gentlest soul. Zoey was rescued from the streets of Hesperia after roaming alone for several days until a kind Good Samaritan reached out. Upon arrival, she was very skinny, scared, and confused—clearly dumped and likely mistreated.
Since being in her foster home, Zoey has been slowly adjusting to a life she never knew before. She can be timid at first, but with patience, gentle pets, and affection, she warms up and rewards you with sweet kisses. It was obvious Zoey had never been indoors, yet she has done amazingly well and has had no accidents in her foster home. She gets along beautifully with her doggie foster sisters. Other dogs give her confidence and comfort, helping her navigate a world that still feels overwhelming at times.
Zoey would thrive in a home with another confident dog to help guide her. Please note we will only be placing her in a home with another dog, this is not negotiable. She will also need an adopter who understands that continued leash work and confidence-building are essential, and who is willing to show her that the world isn’t always such a scary place. Zoey is also very food and treat motivated, which helps her learn and trust more easily.
Zoey is a loving, gentle girl who just needs patience, understanding, and a safe home to continue blossoming into the amazing dog she is!
