Meet Mable 🤍
The sweetest 1.5-year-old Golden Retriever whose story didn’t start the way it should have.
She was found on the streets by a Good Samaritan, likely hit by a car and left to suffer. Although the family who found her initially planned to keep her, they soon realized the severity of her injury and were unable to take on the responsibility. For days, Mable sat in the shelter with a broken leg—alone, in pain, and waiting for someone to come for her.
Then, Rover’s Retreat stepped in to save her, when we got her to the vet it was clear her injuries were severe. Her body endured too much for so long. The only option to give her a chance at a pain-free life was amputation.
Despite everything she’s endured, Mable’s spirit is nothing short of incredible. She’s adjusting to life on three legs with so much strength and resilience. She tries to run, she plays, she leans in for hugs, and gives the sweetest kisses like her heart was never broken. She enjoys her walks, is food motivated, and is eager to please. She’s both dog and people friendly, and will only be placed in a home with another dog to help build her confidence and continue guiding her.
Now, she’s ready for her forever home—one filled with the love, patience, and care she has always deserved. 🐾✨
Mable is currently being fostered in Moreno Valley, CA but can be adopted anywhere in the US as long as her adopters drive her home 🚗
