This absolutely beautiful girl is Mimi! Mimi had one family since she was a puppy, but they realized they wanted a better life for her so they turned her into us to find her perfect home. They told us Mimi is just fine with cats, but we have not cat tested her. She lives in foster care with 3 other big dogs and she co-exists just lovely with them! She will play with one of them for short periods of time. We'd like her to have another dog in her home, or access to dogs at your place of work or your friends and family. Even being part of a walking or hiking group where there are other dogs would be enough. We are looking for a family where someone is home most of the time or can take her to work with them. Being home alone for more than 2-3 hours a day would not work for Mimi as she wants to be with her family.
Mimi has a lot of energy and loves going on walks and hikes, so we are looking for an active family/person for her. She needs to be walked every day, a couple of times a day, and would really enjoy longer walks or hikes, maybe beach visits and other adventures, on the weekends. She gets excited initially on her walk and pulls a tad, but then settles nicely.
Mimi will need a large backyard. She really enjoys hunting for critters and scopes the perimeter to make sure her and her family are safe from those pesky lizards! She is generally a quiet girl unless she wants to alert you to something in the yard that she thinks shouldn't be there. Mimi also very much enjoys bones - she walks around with one in her mouth any time she can like a typical golden - has to have something in her mouth - and will happily lay and chew on one with her tail giving a good wag to show how happy she is. She loves dinner time and will bounce up and down on her front paws - so cute! She will chase a ball for a bit in the yard too.
Mimi is a little wary meeting people for the very first time, but as long as they give her a treat or a good pet, she's then their best friend for life. She is a little anxious at times and scrunches up her nose and grins at you to show that she's a really good girl. Reassuring her with kisses and pets lets her know that indeed she is! Mimi has not ridden in a car very much and initially was very nervous and did not like it at all. But her foster mum has been trying to take her for a ride every day and she is learning it's not so scary and is beginning to actually lay down for the ride. Patience and kindness is all that is needed - treats also help!
Mimi will sleep all through the night in your bedroom on the floor. She also enjoys, if you let her, getting up on the bed to have big snuggles and loves it when you laugh and make some happy noise - she gets excited and really enjoys the play and interaction. She is housebroken, knows sit and down, has great recall and is generally a really great girl! We will be looking for a very special family for her to shower her with everything she deserves.
