This adorable boy is Frankie! He is a 10 month old, cream-colored golden retriever puppy. Frankie came to us because his former owners did not have time for him.
He is tall and lanky and at 65 lbs he has a ways to go to fill out. He has fantastic big paws. Frankie loves bones! Balls are fun too, but bones are his absolute favorite. He would happily lay in the sun chewing on a bone all day if you let him. He enjoys walking a great deal, and while he may pull a bit he is learning quickly to walk nicely on leash. Frankie loves baths and being brushed and will happily stand or sit while you do either and soak it up.
Frankie's most favorite thing, after bones of course, is pets and cuddles. He is an extremely affectionate boy who will raise his head and close his eyes while you spend time petting him. However, Frankie likes it so much he doesn't want it to stop, so when you do stop, he will jump up to get you to continue and grab ahold of your clothing to bring you to him to continue petting. While his foster family is working with him on this, we will not be placing him in a home with young children.
Frankie enjoys playing and running to get out his energy. He would like to go on hikes, little runs, and long walks. He's not a big barker, but will bark when someone knocks the door, or when he hears another dog in the near neighborhood, but he quickly stops. Frankie needs a committed family to train him on walking nicely on a leash, and on his jumping. Frankie is fine with other dogs and lives harmoniously with them, but would be fine without another one in his home. He has also been tested with cats, and is fine with them. Frankie is very food and treat motivated so he is easy to train. We are looking for a family committed to his training and his exercise.
