This stunning boy is Teddy, a 1-2 year old golden boy who is as sweet as they come. He was found as a stray along with another dog. The Good Samaritan that found him did their due diligence, the supposed owners were located, and then proceeded to ghost the finder. The finder ended up adopting the other dog, and Teddy came into rescue to find his forever family.
When he first arrived Teddy was very shut down. Our guess is he was much more bonded to the dog he was found with than originally thought. Over the first week in rescue, Teddy has settled in quite well and is a much happier boy. One thing we know for sure is that Teddy absolutely needs a full time dog companion/playmate. We won’t compromise on that.
Teddy is a moderate energy boy. He loves his walks and does very well on leash. He is learning how fun toys are, but is still cautious. We are not sure what his former life was like, but lots of things are new to him. For example, it took the foster 45 minutes to get him to go down the stairs in their home for the first time. Since then, he goes up and down like a champ. Getting in and out of cars is scary for him, and while he’s getting better with practice that will take more time and patience. Once he’s in the car he does just fine.
Teddy LOVES and craves human attention. He will sit with you, offer his paw and melt in your arms. As long as you pet him, he will be happy. He’s a velcro pup and wants to be with his people. He is also a quick learner and is very eager to please. He will sit, sit pretty, and shake. He has had 1 potty accident at his foster home but overall he has been a wonderful houseguest. This special boy will make any family feel like they won the puppy lottery.
