Meet Auggie! One of the sweetest, gentlest, and most adorable boys we have had in rescue. He’s approximately 2 1/2 years old and came to us from a horrible shelter in Turkey where our rescuer spotted him. She asked if we could save him, and of course we said yes! Our best guess is he is a golden retriever/setter mix, but there surely could be other things in there. One thing is for sure…he is the bestest boy.
Auggie’s #1 favorite thing is getting loved on by his people. He craves attention and will ask to be petted. He gets along with everyone…including dogs and cats. He hasn’t started playing with his foster doggie brother yet, but is respectful of both the dog and the cat in the household. Auggie is discovering how fun toys can be, and he’s enjoying them. He is even good about sharing toys with his doggie foster brother.
Auggie has been a great houseguest at his foster home. He hasn’t had any potty accidents, leaves the foster’s belongings intact even when left alone for a couple hours, and is pretty mellow in the home. He loves going on adventures, rides well in the car, and enjoys hiking and long walks. Auggie is a moderate energy boy who is happy to cuddle up on the couch with his people after his exercise, and he is great on leash.
If Auggie sounds like the pup for you, please complete our adoption application. Questions can be directed to nancy@roversretreat.org
NOTE: Auggie’s adoption fee helps offset the extremely high cost of international transportation, extensive vetting done in his home country, and the CDC’s requirements for importing dogs.
