This adorable boy is Darren, a 2 1/2 year old golden mix who came to us recently from Turkey. His mom (a golden retriever) was rescued along with her 2 puppies. Dad is unknown. Darren was adopted to a local family in Turkey, but a very typical thing happened….the family returned him because he was furry and shed too much. Since Darren’s brother and mom had already come into rescue and are living their best lives with their new families, our Turkish rescuer asked if we would take Darren as well. How could we resist?! 

Darren is a happy, balanced, and playful boy. He is calm and gentle and loves all people. He gets along great with other dogs, and also does well with cats. Darren enjoys his walks and going on adventures with his people. He is generally good on leash, but can pull at times when he’s excited. His favorite thing is to be wherever his people are. He craves attention and is very food motivated. 

Darren is a moderate energy boy who is currently getting about 3 miles of walks per day, plus running around the yard with his foster doggie sibling. He is learning that toys are fun, too. Darren has been a great houseguest, has left his foster family’s belongings intact and hasn’t had any potty accidents. Darren is a respectful and polite boy who would be a great addition to any family.
