How could anyone abandon this precious girl? That’s what Valerie’s original family did to this incredibly sweet, sensitive pup. When her family moved in with relatives, there was no room for Valerie so they dumped her at a shelter in Turkey. Thankfully our amazing rescuer took her in and promised to get her an amazing life.
Valerie is about as sweet as they come. She’s a petite 40 lbs and at approximately 3 years old she still looks like a puppy. Valerie gets along with everyone…dogs, cats, and all humans. She’s a moderate energy girl who gets excited for mealtime and settles beautifully after a walk.
Valerie loves her walks and does great on leash. She rides well in the car, too. Valerie is food motivated and knows good things happen when she sits. She craves human attention, and will paw you for more when you stop petting her. She loves cuddling up next to her human on the couch. Valerie hasn’t had any potty accidents at her foster home and has been a wonderful houseguest.
Valerie is a very sensitive and sweet girl who can get spooked by loud noises like skateboards or large/noisy trucks rolling by. She will need a patient adopter to help her learn that new things (like watching TV) aren’t a threat. She thrives on routine and knowing what to expect. Changes can be scary to sensitive dogs like Valerie, but with time and patience she adapts well.
Valerie wants nothing more than to be part of a loving family who will make every day of her life better than the one before. If you’re interested in making Valerie part of your family, please complete our adoption application. Questions can be directed to nancy@roversretreat.org
NOTE: Valerie’s adoption fee helps offset the extremely high cost of international transportation, extensive vetting done in her home country, and the CDC’s requirements for importing dogs.
