This precious, petite pup is Amanda! She came to us recently from Turkey where she was found at a shelter when one of our volunteers visited. She must have had a family prior to landing in the shelter as she knew how to walk on a leash, loves affection, and instantly picked up a toy when she arrived at her foster home!
Amanda is a pretty typical young golden girl. She’s very playful and adores other dogs. She craves human attention and will nudge her foster mom’s arm to get love. She wants to be as close as possible to her human…be it cuddling on the couch or sleeping in bed together. Amanda also gives the traditional ‘Turkish hug’ where she will gently put her front paws up on you to get affection.
Amanda is a moderate to higher energy girl. She needs daily exercise and play, and then will settle nicely. She has also gone to work with her foster mom and was great in that setting as well. With access to a yard (ex. door left open or dog door) she does great with going potty in the correct place. She may have an accident or two as she is getting acclimated, but with gentle direction and praise she learns quickly. Amanda is very eager to please, treat motivated, and already learning a few basic commands.
We would love to have a dog playmate for her (preferably similar size or smaller), an active family who will take her on adventures, and people who want a cuddly and affectionate pup in their lives.

NOTE: Amanda’s adoption fee helps offset the extremely high cost of international transportation, extensive vetting done in her home country, and the CDC’s requirements for importing dogs.
