Meet Tuna! One of the sweetest, gentlest, and most adorable boys we have had in rescue. He’s approximately 2 1/2 years old and came to us from a horrible shelter in Turkey where our rescuer spotted him and his brother. She asked if we could save them both, and of course we said yes! Our best guess is he is a golden retriever/setter mix, but there surely could be other things in there. Tuna’s coat was shaved a few months ago due to some wounds, but is growing back. One thing is for sure…he is the bestest boy.

Tuna is extremely people focused and wants to hang out with people and get attention.  He will cuddle as long as you will let him, and would love to be your lap dog. He will also offer his paw to have you keep petting him. Tuna is respectful when meeting new dogs, gets along with them very well and enjoys playing with them. He is also cat friendly. Tuna is a moderate energy boy who walks well on leash and enjoys his outings. He gets zoomies and loves running around the yard. He will chase after a toy, but doesn’t quite know to bring it back.

Tuna is very sensitive and respectful.  If he does something wrong (like putting his paws up on a counter) a gentle verbal correction goes a long way.  He may try a few times, but learns pretty quickly.  He gets intimidated easily so his foster parents are slowly working on his obedience commands. He has adapted beautifully to everyday living at his foster home including walks, car rides, and relaxing at home and has been a wonderful houseguest.

Tuna would do best in a calm home with gentle people. He would thrive with a doggie companion/playmate, or at a minimum a very social life with other dogs.
